Pathway to Pilot Program Brochure

Our Pathway to Pilot Program is a special program that allows students to complete their Aerospace Engineering Degree as well as their Pilot Certification at the same time.

Hence, in 4 years the students get both their degree and Certification as a Pilot in our Pathway to Pilot Program. This is especially crucial as now almost all international airlines like Etihad, Emirates, Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific and others prefer Pilots who are also University Graduates and they also get much higher salary as compared to Pilots who are only high school or Academy Graduates. Moreover, they become capable to pilot the aircraft as well as to design it.

In our Pathway to Pilot Program, students study for 3 Years at GD Goenka University Aerospace Program focusing on main engineering subjects like Programming, Introduction to Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Aviation Studies, Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Materials, Aerostructures, Propulsion and much more. In their 3rd year they can choose from specializations of Aeronautics, Astronautics, Avionics and Defense Technologies. However, in the case of Pathway to Pilot Program, we recommend Aeronautics. Also students on our Pathway to Pilot Program get training on FAA mandatory ground classes on our campus before they progress to our flight school partner abroad. We have teamed up with Relevez AG (Aeroversa) for our Ground Classes and for our Pre Selection Process.

Flight School in 4th Year

Then in their 4th final year of study, they progress to our Partner Flight School in Florida, USA to study to become a Pilot. They take flying lessons and accumulate their flying hours as they get first their FAA Pilot Certificate then they subsequently get their Instrument Certification, Multi Engine Certification and Trainer Certification by the end of their year at our Flight School. We have partnered up with Aerocadet Training Center in Florida for the Flight Training as well as the Paid Internships for 1.5 years comprised of their CPT and OPT, which allows them to fly cargo ships as well as training flights getting paid by the hour.

Get Your CPL and Start Flying

Hence, at the end of the program, in 4 years the student have their Aerospace Engineering Degree, which is valid in every country including USA and also their Pilot Certification. They can come back either at the end of their 4th year or if they wish, we provide them with an internship as a pilot and they start to get Paid as they take Charter Flights and Cargo Flights in USA and surrounding environment. This way they accumulate their flying hours. Once they reach a certain flying hours, they can progress for an exam to get their ATPL which allows them to become Junior First Officers on passenger planes.

We Place You in International Airlines

Our partner also helps the students to get placements in international airlines such as Etihad, Fly Dubai, Cathay Pacific, Turkish Airlines and many more. Today Junior First Officers get around 5000 USD per month, regular First Officers about 7000 USD per month and Captain Pilots get around 10K to 25K USD per month along with numerous perks such as free tickets for themselves and their families. Since they are also Aerospace Engineers they can also work at Executive Roles in Airlines and Aviation Companies in addition to flying and can earn far more. In addition, if they wish they can come back to India and get their DGCA exams and convert their License to DGCA License if they wish to fly with Indian based Airlines.
